Beeston in Bloom

Beeston in Bloom was founded in 1997 with the aim of brightening the environment of this mainly inner-city area of South Leeds with gardening projects, and generally encouraging community spirit. To see a video about our history since 2001, click on this link .
Our schemes have evolved over the years but currently include :

  • organising hanging baskets on lamp posts on main roads in Beeston
  • developing and maintaining several community gardens, raised bed planters, and street troughs and tubs
  • holding regular sales of mainly home-grown plants at cheap prices to encourage neighbours to 'get digging' - please view our Calendar
  • planting spring flowering bulbs throughout the area every autumn
  • raising funding to finance our aims
  • liaising with other community groups, schools and churches
  • entering the Yorkshire in  Bloom competition in the Urban Community category.
